With lsscsi I never find a device for /dev/nst0 is why I went with /dev/sg0 is it possible bacula is expecting the latter and resolves it on its own somehow? This is the output from lsscsi -g [4:0:4:

looks like your Ultrium uses /dev/st0 so try /dev/nst0 in your conf file. nst0 is the same as st0 except it does not rewind. in recent versions of bacula, you set it in mtx-changer.conf in older vers

Hi Joe, Before dealing with bacula, make sure you understand how to use the commands 'mt', 'mtx', 'tapeinfo' and then make sure that they are working correctly. Then see how 'mtx-changer' uses 'mtx'

The problem with the mtx status command you did is /dev/sg0 is the tape drive and not the changer. Find the correct device for the changer using tapeinfo. Run it one by one for /dev/sg0 ... Here is m

Sometimes (less than 1 time per 3 months) I see this with my archive. And the solution is to stop bacula-sd. If that did not work unload mt modprobe -r mt If that did not work unload the scsi driver
