Maybe. You need to first update your openssh to a current version, then generate a new _host_ key and probably private/public user key as well. There was a bug in Debian-based openssl packages which

The public part of the key goes in the remote host under /root/.ssh (i.e. in the home directory of the user you want to run as on the remote. The private part is in backuppc's home/.ssh - probably /v

Success!! i upgraded all software (apt-get upgrade) on both the client and server (openssl was upgraded on the client), recreated the public/private keys and now i am no longer getting the 'blacklist
