I'm setting up a new install of BackupPC on Ubuntu 10.04, and have run into a problem. I have rsyncd running fine on both a Win XP and Win 7 machine, I'm able to login to the share from the terminal

The problem was I didn't have the DHCP checkbox set. Checking that box made it work, I had it off because I thought I remembered reading somewhere to leave it off even if they are DHCP. I don't remem

If you can resolve names through DNS, it is best to leave dhcp unchecked even if you use dhcp with fixed IPs or dynamic DNS updates. Checking the dhcp box makes backuppc use nmblookup to resolve name
