Easy. /usr/lib/amanda/chg-zd-mtx is just a shell script that sets $PATH. chg-zd-mtx is telling you that mtx is not in that path. For a quick fix, just copy your mtx binary to libexec. mtx is searched

Jay, Thanks for the reply. It's unusual behavior for a query that's checking the slots for tapes and tape labels, but I've gotten the impression Amanda is fairly paranoid about explicit instructions.
