Thread: vault status

    Hello All,

While running a reclamation process of the copy_pool an error came back saying some volumes could not be reclaimed (about 35 of them). The volumes were in the vault and I recalled a few of them and manually ran a "move". The volumes were anywhere from 1-6 percent utilized so the move was very quick and successful. All the volumes report 0 percent utilized.

I want to return them to scratch but even though I was able to load them in the library all the tapes still have a status of vault. A mov drm will not allow me to change the status to onsiter. I ran an audit of the library and Q libv shows them but q vol f=d shows a status of vault. How do I reconcile these two?

    Hello,

Use 'Query DRM" command to check the status of this tapes. Then use the "MOVE DRM" to move and change their status.

    q drm 000005

    Volume Name State Last Update

    Date/Time

    ---------------- ----------------- -------------------

    000005 Vault 05/09/2006 08:48:25

    mov drm 000005 tostate=onsiter

ANR0609I MOVE DRMEDIA started as process 38.

    ANS8003I Process number 38 started.

ANR6762E MOVE DRMEDIA: The specified destination state ONSITERETRIEVE is

invalid for volume 000005 in VAULT state.

Which makes sense because according to the Help mov drm, you can not move from a vault to a onsiter status...but apparently going from vault to vaultr is a right help by TSM because the only tostates we can use don't include the vaultr.

How can I get Tivoli then to move it to a vaultr status? I have an empty tape onsite in a vault status

Some of the volumes that are having reclaim issues have an estimated capacity of 0.0, other appear to reflect normally.
