Maybe TSM still believes there's data on the volume. Check with q cont - or just wait a couple of hours and try again. Sounds silly - but sometimes TSM just seems to need some time to let the last column in the last table know, that you actually deleted the data and it should just forget about it - even if q cont comes back and tells you there's nothing on there.

    Cheers

You should be able to force an update to any tables that think theres data on the volume by auditing the volume.

    Three things are certain:
    Death, taxes, and lost data.
    Guess which has occurred.

Thanks for the suggestions. I waited a couple of hours, I did an audit and received

ANR2209W Volume SYSA.ADSMBUF.NETWVC contains no data.

Then tried a delete and got the same error.

    try doing the following:

    q vol volume_name f=d

see what state the volume is in.

then do update volume volume_name access=readwrite

Look at the actlog and see if it deleted the volume from the volume history.

Now you can get rid of it . . .
