Restoring an MS Exchange Store
Hi,
I am trying to restore an MS Exchange store, and have ensured that there is enough space on the local server for the RSG to accept the restored data store, and that the RSG store has the allow for restoration attribute enabled.
however each time i try and restore it fails, instantly, with the following error - ACN5798E MS Exchange API HRESERESTOREOPEN() failed with HRESULT: 0xc7ff0bb9
below is an extract from the tdpexc.log showing whats going on in a little more detail:

Any ideas as to why this restore might be failing? I have almost given up on this now, but its only due to the data being important enough to loose ones job over that i am trying to resolve it!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I think that your Exchange database might be corrupted as there are many causes for the corruption like hardware failure, virus infection, improper system shutdown, application malfunction, user errors and missing database objects. For repairing in your corrupt Exchange Stores there are a large number of the third party tools that are available and by repairing in your files you could easily be able to restore your Exchange Stores(which is a combination of your EDB's and the public folders) to the RSG formats. Maintain a note that when creating the RSG make sure the same path is used for the Transaction Logs and database files prior to running a restore.
Thanks

Re:
Hi,
You can try to use an Exchange Server Recovery tool, such as Kernel for Exchange Recovery Which is the user centric professional tool devised to recover corrupt or damaged EDB and STM file accurately. The recovered files can be previewed and then saved in PST format. The tool recovers private as well as public Exchange Database files. The tool is enriched with advanced settings that help in optimizing the entire EDB repair process. User friendly and easy to use interactive screens make this tool extremely simple to download and use.
