dsmc retrieve -pick 1
Is there any way to use -pick without making it interactive? IE: if i just want the most recent file, that file is always #1 in the pick list, so can i just specify "restore pick 1" ?
Obviously that exact syntax i have already tried and it does not work, and the documentation for pick does not mention any way to do it, but I hoped someone else would know?

Since we are performing a restore, by default we will get the active version.
The active version is the most recent backup of the file.
If you want an older version of the file (inactive), then use the -pick -ina options.
Good Luck,
Sias

Thanks, but that refers to backups... I have a bunch of archived files, and when I ask for one, it retrieves all 32 copies, overwriting the result file repeatedly until just the latest file is left... so I end up with what i wanted, but it takes longer than it needs to.
