    Default Basic Legato install question

    Hi All,

While I have managed a Legato server i have never done the install from scratch.

I have a new HP 1U server running Windows 2008_64 and HP Storage Works MSL2024 (24 Tape) Tape Library. That is the extent of the backup equipment.

When installing Legato 7.6 I'm a little confused whether I need to install Storage Node or will loading Legato Server, Legato Client (as I want to back up the server as well) and Legato License Manager be sufficient to control and manage the Tape Library and backups.

I will be backing up 5 servers and about 20 clients, while not a big enviroment they sure do create a lot of data

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Joe

    Default

What you must install is the NW server (in the Windows Install GUI, use the option "server and client"). This would also include the Storage Node software.
Forget about the License Manager - it is only necessary if you have multiple NW servers.
