Licence Error in TSM with OS Windows 2003 server x64bit
Hi,
We have Installed TSM server 5.4.5.0 on Windows 2003 server x64 bit. We have 2 library one is SCSI (IBM TS3100) & second is Fiber Library (HP MSLG3).We have installed FC card in server & want to restore TSM Database backup taken from Fiber Library. But we are getting Licence error in TSM which is attached below.
We have updated IBM Tape Library drivers for x64 bit also & we are getting 2 Library under Device Manager>Medium changer.
Is there any way to perform this ?

Hi,
it is not licensing error - seems your library is not ready. Maybe you are in the "menu mode" - not on the "startup" screen on the LCD. Maybe the library has door open. For the HP library you should use TSM device driver (not IBM device driver).

@Harry's right about the library issue, although it seems you certainly do have a licensing issue with your TSM Server as well - have you installed the TSM licensing package on this system?

Hi,
Thanks for the update.I already installed TSM licensing package as well as TSM Device Driver. But is there any diffrence in Device Driver for HP library & IBM library. We are actually tring to do the reserch if we can attach 2 library (one scsi & Fiber) with same server & restore the TSM db which is taken from another server. Is it possible ? Pls guide.

Hi,
for IBM devices you have to install IBM device driver (found on IBM FixCentral site http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/)
For non-IBM devices you have to use TSM device driver (comes with TSM server installation package - you have to install it).
I would install the TSM device driver, then IBM driver (in exclusive mode) and finaly change the driver for the HP devices in the device manager to TSM device driver.
Having two libraries attached to the same server should not be a problem.

It will remain unknown until you have correcxt path to the drive. Once the path is correct do a move data on a volume that is present in the library and you the drive type will be updated.
Windows, does it come with a gui?
