Default TSM client linux - Redhat 4 support?

    http://www-304.ibm.com/support/docvi...lient_x86linux

So I am in the middle of upgrading my entire environment from 5.5 server to 6.3.

I went to find the 32 bit client for 6.3, and there are no more which makes sense. Unfortunately I have a handful of old redhat 4 32 bit servers. They will go away soon, just not next week.

According to the document below IBM does not support anything below RHEL 5 on the client side, if I can get the 5.5 client working with the 6.3 server is that ok and just won't be able to get support?

Yes you won't get support - search adsm.org for a similar posting (asked and answered) about three weeks ago.

The last client for RHEL 4.x is version 5.5.x. This isn't supported by TSM server 6.3

    Thanks guys!

I guess I should have searched before making thread.

The thing that has me confused is on that TID posted it says the following:

    * = TSM 5.5 clients will be supported with TSM 6.3 servers and storage agents during the upgrade of TSM 5.5 servers to TSM 6.3, through December 31st, 2012
Wonder why they would stop supporting it, if it technically works? Well I guess with all software eventually they have to stop. I was thinking that I just won't be able to take advantage of some of the new 6.3 features such as deduplication and so on, but not sure if I would run into performance issues.

I am going to see if I can get the 6.2 32 bit client working on RH 4, I don't know it might not work but will give it a shot. Either way I guess I won't have support for these older RH 4 boxes no matter which client it on, since they don't even support anything RH 5 from what I can read on their documentation.
