LAN FREE backup

Hi All,

I am currently running TSM 6.2.2 on windows 2008 64bit. I am wondering how do i configure to use LAN FREE backup? Can you provide some detail instruction on how to go about this?

1. Is there an extra LIC file that I need to install?
2. Do I have install an addition device on the server side?
3. Do I have to re-install my BA client?
4. Do I have to re-install my TDPSQL client?
5. Do I have to re-install my TDPEXC client?
6. Any additional configuration that I need to do? Like updating the path?

You have to install storage agent for LAN free.

The configuration procedure you follow will depend on the type of environment you implement

Install and configure the client.
Install and configure the storage agent.
Configure the libraries for LAN-free data movement.
Define the libraries and associated paths.
Define associated devices and their paths.
Configure Tivoli Storage Manager policy for LAN-free data movement for the client.

You need to buy a LICENSE for the Storage agent.
