Advices for complete Server Recovery.
Hello All,
Does anyone manage to do a complete server recovery of a W2K3 and/or W2K8R2 server ?
I tried two recovery ways to rebuild a server (hardware is not identical) into a VM machine
1/ Restoring over running OS with TSM client GUI 6.2.4.0 the C: drive and SystemState
2/ Restoring with WinPE boot cd with TSM client
In the two cases, after server restore, server is not booting successfully.
I tried os repair without success.
Does anyone have any experience in successfull server recovery ?
Any idea will be appreciated.
Many Thanks.

Hi,
In order to do a complete restore to a different hardware you'll need a thirdparty software. TSM BA client only has limited support for restore to the different hardware.
IBM resells our software Cristie Bare Machine Recovery in a version which uses the TSM backup to recreate a server in different hardware (physical or virtual) (TBMR).
Ask your local IBM rep. or contact www.cristie.com for prices.
