TSM4VE Restore with hotadd failes on second disk

Hi all

I have a strange problem with TSM4VE. Backups are working correctly but most oft he restores fails with the following error:

TSM function name : VixDiskLib_Write
TSM file : vmvddksdk.cpp (2485)
API return code : 1
API error message : Unknown error
After the error occurred a couple of times the restore fails. The problem is always on the restore of the second hard disk. The error is the same for various different VMs.

The following points I tried to find the solution:
- Check of SAN policy
- Restore to other Host and DataStore
- Using ndbsll instead of hotadd transport protocol solves the problem.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?

What version TSM BA client and TSM for VE are you running?

TSM4VE 6.3.0.0
baclient 6.3.0.10

Both should be the most recent versions.

I am not 100% sure that this is the same problem/error I saw on an earlier version of TSM BA and TSM for VE. That was on BA 6.2 and TSMforVE 6.2.3. However, since you are using later versions, the problem should be resolved if indeed this was the same one.

Would there be later versions? If there isn't, I would like to propose to install the 6.2 versions and find out if the problem still persist.
