3592 E05 and E06 run hours.
Hi,
We are looking at upgrade out library and management is looking for a lot of info on what is happening in our library now.
I am new to my job and I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to check run hours on the drives currently installed.
I would like to get hours to date for the drives now and keep track of what goes on for the next couple of weeks.
Is this possible and what is the best way to do this. We have a 3494 library now so I don't know if I can monitor this on the console on the back or if i have to use the displays on the front of the drives or possibly TSM command line.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

The easiest way is to install a test license of TSMManager. The software collects your drive usage data and can generate a report.
By the way, there is E07 available. Only consideration is the compatibility to your JA tape cartridges. E07 drives would be much faster.
