Windows Client 6.3 Include/Exlude Problem

Hi,

I don't usually use the .opt file for my backups - typically i define the objects within the schedule on the server.

I was trying to do a strange one though, and I cant get it to work. In my mind this makes sense (I want Systemstate, C:\inetpub and C:\Software) and nothing else...

It seems to be picking up ALL directories though, but not the files inside them.

Can anyone make a suggestion? This is a windows server 2008 r2 client and server both are levels 6.3.0.

Opt file gets traversed from bottom to top. Seems 'includes' gets negated by 'excludes'. Try this way and see if it helps.

A bit of thread necrophilia here but stumbled on this while looking for something else...

You have 2 probs, firstly you need some ...'s (below output taken from your q inclexcl, so reverse the order for your dsm.opt file):
Include SystemState ALL dsm.opt
Include All C:\Software\...\* dsm.opt
Include All C:\inetpub\...\* dsm.opt
Exclude All *\...\* dsm.opt

And secondly, directory structures are backed up (but not the files in them) with normal excludes. To exclude whole directory structures use exclude.dir.
