Its all about VTL

i have been working with TSM for few months and i am switching job, i don't know about VTL's. this new job requires me to have knowledge about VTLs. can anyone points to some documentation about VTLs in TSM, like
how it works....
how can we define it in TSM...
who are the hardware vendors?
what are the types of VTL?
