TSM 5.5 Database Merging ??
Hi All,
Is it possible to merge together multiple instances of TSM 5.5 Databases into a single server instance / Database ?? We have three 5.5 windows TSM boxes and are possibly looking to consolidate these into one place / library. Any thoughts guys ???
Cheers

Hi
There isn't a merge db command or anything like that but what you can do is use "export node" to export all the nodes from two of the TSM servers and "import node" to the one consolidated server. The export can be done to sequential media or direct server to server.
Obviously depending on the number of clients and amount of data this could be time
consuming.
The other alternative would be to point all your clients to the one TSM server and then when you data retention periods have been met delete the old TSM server instances..
Cheers

Merging is not possible, but you can move nodes from one TSM instance to another TSM instance using the command export node or export server
