HACMP for TSM Library Manager
Due to several issues we had with being unable to run restores while the library manager was down I am setting up an HACMP environment for our TSM Library Manager instances.
While looking for documentation on this I did find a Redbook that covered HACMP and TSM, but it was from 2000. I was curious if anyone was aware of any more current documentation or of the 9 year old docs may still be valid to some degree.
If you have experience with this sort of configuration and have any helpful hints it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Rowl

Have you considered setting up a TSM instance that is only the library manager and doesn't do client activity? The Admin Guide/Admin Reference has a chapter on HACMP and clustering.

Yes, I looked over that and shared it with our AIX admin who is setting up the cluster. His reaction was that it was far to little information and that it was wrong. So in part I am also looking for more documentation to confirm what is in the manual.
I just found a newer redbook from 2005 titled IBM Tivoli Storage Manager in a Clustered Environment. This looks like it confirms the TSM manual. The first argument was over the installation of the TSM binaries. He has insisted they go on external storage and only be installed once, which contradicts the IBM documentation.

How, exactly, can you install an LPP fileset to external storage?
Follow the documentation in the guides and it'll work. If it doesn't, call IBM for help.
