Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator (Westbury, NY)

TSM enterprise backup software and the management system. Additional responsibilities include planning and coordinating system utilization and capacity reporting. Work with vendor to plan, install and configure enterprise storage hardware, and related application software:
• Coordinate installation, configuration and testing with vendor, and other IT departments
• Works with vendor staff to review and ensure adherence to applicable standards
• Provides ongoing administration, maintenance and updates to the storage environment and core software components
• Defines and develops enterprise-specific documentation describing the environment and activities performed by the vendor
• Document system recovery and DR procedures
• Ability to work with project teams (Analysts, Project Managers, System Administrators) to ensure successful project implementation.

Specific experience / skills required:
Required Skills:
• At least 3-5 5 years experience with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager backup server
• Trouble shooting skills for Windows and Unix TSM Clients and Server configuration, performance
• Experience with IBM 3584 Tape Library, LTO-4 tape drives, data encryption.
• Experience with shell scripting.
• Additional experience with Tivoli Data Protection (TDP) products such as SQL TDP, Exchange TDP, Oracle TDP
• Experience with TSM LAN-Free Storage Agent.
• Ability to design, implement, troubleshoot, and administer a multi-vendor, multi-fabric SAN switch environment
• Strong working knowledge of EMC Enterprise Storage Systems and array based replication technology
• Experience with Windows Server OS and Unix AIX 5.X OS required.
• Strong working knowledge of storage system functions, components and data center operations
• Strong working knowledge of concepts, uses and capabilities of SAN equipment and software
• Strong working knowledge of enterprise backup tools concepts; disaster recovery principles and concepts
• Strong written and oral communication skills
