Question Best way to backup UNC path

I need to backup a couple of shares on a file server that are accessable via UNC paths (\\servername\share) on a different system running TSM. And i'm nost sure what is the best way to do this?

Is it possilbe to use a filespaces and put an Include.Fs statement in the dsm.opt file like this:

    "Include.Fs \\filer1\data\Common MEMORYEFFICIENTBACKUP=NO"

    hi redmerlin,
you can add it to the *.opt file.
But the tsm client which do the job must have the rights to do that.

    Is this the correct format?

    Include.Fs \\filer1\data\Common MEMORYEFFICIENTBACKUP=NO

yes, it should, but you don't need "MEMORYEFFICIENTBACKUP=NO" - because its the default value for include.fs

    Default Invalid domain name

Thanks for your help on this i'm getting a little farther but now i'm seeing an 'ANS1071E Invalid domain name error' when trying to do a backup.

Here's the lines from my dsm.opt file

    DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL
    DOMAIN \\filer1\data\Common\chilsejw
    include "\\filer1\data\Common\chilsejw" STANDARD

The domain statement should only have the share name.

    i.e. \\filer\sharename

and not the whole directory path.
