Best way to backup UNC path
I need to backup a couple of shares on a file server that are accessable via UNC paths (\\servername\share) on a different system running TSM. And i'm nost sure what is the best way to do this?
Is it possilbe to use a filespaces and put an Include.Fs statement in the dsm.opt file like this:
"Include.Fs \\filer1\data\Common MEMORYEFFICIENTBACKUP=NO"

hi redmerlin,
you can add it to the *.opt file.
But the tsm client which do the job must have the rights to do that.

Invalid domain name
Thanks for your help on this i'm getting a little farther but now i'm seeing an 'ANS1071E Invalid domain name error' when trying to do a backup.
Here's the lines from my dsm.opt file
DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL
DOMAIN \\filer1\data\Common\chilsejw
include "\\filer1\data\Common\chilsejw" STANDARDLast edited by redmerlin; 06-19-2008 at 11:41 AM.

The domain statement should only have the share name.
i.e. \\filer\sharename
and not the whole directory path.
