We use diskpool for backup & next pool is tapepool with enough scratch tape assigned.And also we don't have caching on diskpool.Any other suggestions

you mean to say if the backup is Scatter over number of tapes it will delay the restore,right.
So if i take backup set of the data on one tape & then restore.It should not take much time?

My client is 5.4 & so cannot do disablenqr=yes setting.

I supose its searching for n numbers files for restore initiatly & hence taking long time.Any other setting?

I cannot upgrade the server either.I will try the option of excluding the systemobject & system services.Just can any one give me the syntax.
