IBM has some tools for scanning tapes, perhaps it can retrieve a stored db, but it can be very costly and here you got...
did you tried using Firefox...?
How TSM could still keep a mount point after a "Recycle" ???..
pretty confusing story
Did the delete work? I think if TSM think the drive is mounted it won't allow you to delete it...

Are you sure the Fs you try to snap is a local one, not a share or something like...?
That's sound me strange...
I don't think that a TSM Server, what ever the version running on, can refuse a client because of the fact that the client is an too old version.
i am Ok that there...

A full db backup should truncate your Logs...
You have a easier way to do it via the gui,
go to "File tab" then "choose "Logon"
you got a pop up, choose another node as nodename
of course you should know a account which has access right on...
what is your problem?
what the errors said?
q backup G:\directory\file.txt
dsmc restore G:\directory\file.txt -pick -ina
to see exactly all the version and with the pick option you can choose the file you want to restore
to be more clear on that
i recommend to set a name like "servera-to-serverb" for your node
with that way you will properly the direction of your data movments
if you like playig with command lines
you also got this tool
you can dosnl it and put it on the floppy and play
it's a bit crazy but its works
still you can try tageting the other drive for cache,
and what about using VSS to as provider of the snapshot, I'll recommend you,
Am using it without any prob
are we talking about client or server???
'cause I've already has client link, and insomnee_a is searching the servers patches...
normally the number of files is not a problem....

are your cache resinding on the the same filesystem?
Just out of curiosity
where did you find 5.5 patches for other plateform
interesting link dude
do not forget the snapshotcachesize is a pourcentage of the target disk defined by snapshotcachelocation
hwo big is your, i better say who many freee space do you on the target snapshotcachelocation disk ???
because, as the error said, if you don't have enough space to store OFB (old files blocks),...
so any news ???
for granular info you can do
select node_name, hl_name, ll_name, class_name from backups where node_name='Your_Node_Name' and and hl_name='xxx' and ll_name='xxx'
where hl_name = directory...
it's not more deep than that,
I want to say does the licenses are associated on the "Core" level,
for example if you have a a client with on physical proc but dual core
you have to buy 2...
try renamin the system filespaces
and try rebacking a nw one
if you wanted to reten the file 21 days
you can configured like this
Versions Data Exists NOLIMIT

Retain Extra Versions 21

just click on your link,
it s appear that I participate in....
So thanks Mikey it's a honor
are you using OFS or VSS,
I'll recommend you to use VSS to backup open file
add these line on your dsm.opt file, of course restart your scheduler
