Hi All,

Wondering if you guya can point me in the right direction wih this one.

I have 2 nodes using TDP for Domino.

Both nodes are running within a schedule that kicks off at 6:30pm GMT
I can see from doing a q eve * * that the nodes start off on schedule which is great - and they also report as Completed.
Even in the daily report they clearly state that they have completed, and I can see the data transfer to the primary disk pool.

However, when I do a 'q sess' on the TSM server I can see the nodes still holding a session and still tranferring data????
I quit the session as more often than not they're running into business hours. But when I quit the session they start again under a new one?

I have re-installed the latest TDP client and BA client fix pack, thinking it may have been something but it's still happening.

Any ideas folks?

Cheers - Mass

When i lunches the command manually without scheduler the restore, where i find the command e the resource that the restore uses? I can see the log that summarizes the allocated resources (tape, library, nodes ecc)

Hey all,

I normally have a scheduled job run to backup my nodes, but I needed to run a backup manually today via the BA Client GUI. This is on a Win 2k3 server with TSM 6.1.2 and BA Client 6.1.

The node is setup to backup to the disk pool, which is only 70% utilized. However, I'm looking at the tape mounts, and one tape drive is being used for this particular node right now.

Why would this happen, instead of going direct to the disk pool like it was supposed to?

Hello,

I have installed the newest release of TSM for Linux 6.1.3.1 on Centos 5.4 also tried Enterprise Linux 5.4 as well, and my issue is that TSM core dumps immediatly when it calls for a tape mount ! ..

All I get is this in the syslog:

kernel: dsmserv[4352]: segfault at 0000000000000014 rip 00000000009a3f6b rsp 00000000409b38c0 error 4

DDTRACE does not show anything since core dumps occur before hand.

Any one have any idea ? I am running an eval so I can't call IBM.

Any easy way to tell from the core dump what is happening ?

Thanks in advance.

We are currently running 2 TSM servers version 5.4.4.1 with about 300 backup nodes connected (Windows, Linux, Informix, Oracle, ERP, AiX).

Most of our installed clients are running a 5.5 version client version, except for a few servers which are still running Solaris 8 with Informix 9.40. These are still running a 5.3.5.3 client version (both file client and Informix TDP). Unfortunately, we cannot upgrade neither the OS nor the Informix version on these systems until they will be obsoleted in about 2 years.

The above works fine without any issues, but due to a misconfiguration by our system integrator about 100 new nodes have been preloaded with a 6.1 TSM client version.

In order to stay compatible with IBM recommendations (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docvie...id=swg21053218) we should therefore upgrade our servers to a 5.5 version, but we are unsure if the few older systems will still be supported. We can upgrade them easily to the latest 5.3.6.3 client, but any higher level is unsupported. Can anyone advise us on this ?

Thanks ! ;)

hey all i need ur all help in this.....
i have a SAN Attached IBM Tape lIbrary 3584, and having 10 drives in that configured to the TSM 6.1 Server, im having two client nodes one for mail server and another for databse server, im taking backup of the mail server to the tape library successfully in the 1 drive of the library... now i want to take the backup of myDB server using the another drive to the another volume so that i cab have two different backup volumes for DB and Mail Server.
So I wanted to know
1> Is it possible to take backup of two differnt nodes on two doffernt drives using the same library and same storage pool...
2> If yes then How to do dat....
FYI
it is a Automated library LT04
My IBM Library is associated with LTOPOOL1 storage pool and both the nodes are sharing this library using two distinct policy domain
